Character Creation

First of all I recommend bringing up the character sheet and looking at it. A good editable version (that's a hold over from first ed) can be found here. Pages 32 - 33 of the book have the 2nd ed copy.

 

I'm expecting most of you are going to be more long winded then that believes so I'm going to hit the major parts.

 

Forgive the "you" referring to the character. It's easier this way and less grating to me.

 

Name: Right now I'm looking for "normal" if you go by a strange nickname or your parents were hippies, Tolkien fans, or believers in Amish names include it in your back story.

 

Summary: Basic back story, family notes I'm not looking for autobiographies of all of them but a few names how they are related to you, living or dead status, and personality would be nice, are you in the know about the occult? Have you had an occult incident that's making you question if reality is real? Are you a normal human with no clue yet? These are the things I'm looking for. Just basic notes on who you are, what you are and such. Also, how you know Edna. (See the Background).

 

Personality: I'd love for a zodiac sign, if this means you have to make a birthday up for the Summary and go from there do it. A general description of your personality, you know a couple sentences. Finally, last but not least, what Tarot card best represents you. You may not pick a major arcana. If we have the odd situation where two players pick the same card for thier characters we are going to have to talk it out. The card does NOT have to represent you perfectly. I currently suggest here for card descriptions.

 

Stats/Skills:  The normal 220 points to spend on stats and buy skills as normal off that with the free skills and 15 free skill points all at the end.  If you need help let me know.

  • Stats - Make sure you put the one word or small phrase description of the stat. It will be important once in a while.
  • Adepts - No Adept Magick allowed at the start. If you want this build your character to go insane enough to get it.
  • Avatars - No Avatar skill over 30% and that's "pushing" it.
  • Paradigm - I'm allowing Paradigms, the mind skills that let you avoid hardens and fails. They are in the book.
  • Skill Naming - I'd prefer some "flavorful" names with generic name in ()'s. I understand any skill you make up will have to be talked throughly over with me.

 

Madness Meters: You may have: 2 Hardens and 1 Failed OR 3 Hardens and 2 Fails at the start. If you have a beautiful backstory that calls for more....I'll consider it. Remember, Hardens and Fails are both bad.
